Bites and StingsWash animal bites immediately with soap and water. Check your tetanus cover is up to date.
Insect bites, and wasp and bee stings in this country are unlikely to do any serious harm unless you are allergic to them. Remove rings from any affected finger if possible before it swells up. An antihistamine such as is used for hay fever will help relieve swelling and itching.
CutsStop any bleeding by pressing on the wound with a clean dry cloth such as a towel or a clean hankie, or in an emergency a hand. If the bleeding is difficult to stop, try elevating the wounded limb above the level of the heart.Clean the wound with soap and water or a mild detergent based antiseptic solution.
